underworld pitch

did this eight years ago for an underworld pitch and i found that they used it. they kept the face and everything even though the character doesn't match.

i feel honored and slighted at the same time.

these are some backgrounds i did for boondocks. this was the first show that i used these great little japanese pens to clean up with. i forget the name and keep them all at work. oh well. i will post again with the name.

someone asked if i have ever worked in the animation industry. i must say, it didn't feel like work at all. they were the best times of my life.

design philosophy

mechs aren't difficult if you know the basics of joints and basic
workings of machinery. anyone who has built toy models of ships, planes, or any vehicle can notice the abundance of large
panels with little detail and the small of amount of sprues with
very precise detail. this is a widely taught philosophy on design:
large shapes with little detail connected by small areas of heavy detail..... more to come

bowen designs makes beautiful statues and busts!!! some are quite rare and i am very happy to own them. i do use them as reference and they are quintessential to my designing, those of you at the internal revenue service!!

she is my favorite artist today and my wife and i were captivated with this piece. everything about it was so pleasing to us. she is such a great artist in every sense and she inspires me more than any other artist. i am so privileged. thanks stuart.

man, all i draw is robots and when you think about it, in the future, things will be so nano and organically cloned that robot tech will be moot.

when i start sketching, the best ones , i think, are the ones that have no initial direction. i start sketching with a light marker and have no idea what its going to look like. its part luck, emotion, and after you get an idea of what you want... then its a combination of using the reference you've accumulated in your brain of all the coolest things from movies, anime, etc. and adding as much of yourself as possible.
